Two Card Sharks Denied New Trials

Philadelphia, (AP)–John Keating, 66, of Mercer, Wis., and Carl Behnke of Dubuque, Ia., convicted of defrauding passengers on railway and steamships in card games yesterday were denied new trials by Judge James Gordon.

Behnke was given the maximum sentence of 18 months to three years in county jail, and Keating was placed on probation for five years.
