Eugene Keating

Eugene Keating, age 73, a Knight Commander of Holy Sepulcher and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Edna Keating; his sister, Marguerite Cahoon, and brother, James Keating. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marilyn; his son, Matt; daughters, Eileen (Mark) Douglass and Marguerite; sons, Gene, Joseph (Rachel), and Paul; and by his grandchildren, Michael, Gabrielle, Therese, and Francesca; and brothers, William and Patrick. A graduate of St. Thomas Academy, St. Thomas College, and the University of Minnesota Law School, he received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force as a First Lieutenant in 1956. He practiced law with Lindquist & Vennum in Minneapolis for forty years, representing, among others, the Minnesota Nurses Association, The National Football League Players Association, and The Teamsters Local 1145. He was also active in many Catholic and charitable causes, including The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, The Knights of Columbus, the Minnesota Catholic Defense League, St. Paul’s Outreach, and Total Life Care Centers. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 611 South Third Street, Stillwater. Visitation at Simonet Funeral Home, 6429 Osgood Avenue North, Stillwater, Sunday, 4-8 PM and one hour prior to service in the church atrium. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
