Sister Anne Therese KeatingSister Anne Therese Keating, MSC WATCHUNG – Mass of Christian Burial for Sister Anne Therese Keating, MSC (Sr. Mechtilde) will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at McAuley Health Care Center, Watchung. Born in County Cork, Ireland, Sister Anne Therese entered the Mother House of the Marianites of Holy Cross at Precigne, France on June 14, 1934 and her final profession of vows at Precigne, France on May 30, 1939. She received her bachelor and master’s degree in education from Fordham University and Certification for Administration from the State of New Jersey. As a teacher and certified administrator, Sister Anne Therese ministered at St. Louis Academy, Staten Island, NY, St. Vincent de Paul, Tarrytown, NY, and Our Lady of Sorrows, Mercerville. The last 12 years of her active ministry were spent at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Asbury Park. On May 3, 2002, Sister Anne Therese became a resident at McAuley Health Care Center, Watchung. Sister Anne Therese is survived by numerous nieces and nephews in the United States, Ireland, England, Africa and Australia. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Princeton Cemetery, Princeton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Retirement Fund of the Marianites of Holy Cross, 1011 Gallier St., New Orleans, LA 70117. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung.
