Widow of Judge Dies

Centreville, Md. (AP) — Mrs. Leila Bash Keating, widow of a former Circuit Court judge and mother of a current judge of the same court, died at her home her [sic] Sunday.

She was the wife of the late Judge Thomas J. Keating, whose father, also Thomas J. Keating, was Maryland comptroller from 1878 to 1884. Judge and Mrs. Keating were married in Baltimore in 1897, and later moved to Centreville where he became a judge on Maryland’s Second Judicial Circuit.

  1. Leila Bash Keating was my great grandmother. I was born daughter to Thomas J. Keating IV, who was her grandson and son of Thomas J. Keating III. Thomas J. Keating Jr. and III were both Judges in Centreville, in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court and both my father and brother, Thomas J. Keating V practice(d) law in Centreville as well. My father, grandfather and great-grandfather were graduates of Princeton University. My Uncle, Michael Keating, and his family reside in Talbot County.
