Auto Drags Youth, 19, On Street 30—40 Feet
Lorain – A 19—year—old youth was reported in guarded condition at St. Joseph Hospital, today after he was dragged into a street by an auto early yesterday, according to police.
Kevin Keating, 2223 West 23rd St., is suffering from head cuts, and foot, knee and elbow injuries.
The youth was found unconscious in the street near his home by police shortly before 1 a.m.
Witnesses said Keating had grabbed onto a door handle of an auto parked beside his home and was going to enter the car.
However, Keating then had “some words” with the driver of the auto and the card sped off, with Keating hanging onto the door handle.
He was dragged between 30 and 40 feet, officers said.
John Morse, 21, of 1405 Harris Rd., Sheffield Lake, was charged by police with reckless operation and leaving the scene of an accident.
