I’m about to do a software upgrade on the WordPress journal software. Strange things may occur before, during, and after. I’ll try to clear up any problems as soon as possible.

2 Men Die In Crashes On Highways

A New York City man, Sterling Keating, 36, was instantly killed and his companion, Ruby Hines, 28, seriously injured when Keating lost control of the car in which they were riding and upset at the Bedford Interchange on the Turnpike early yesterday morning.

Keating died of a fractured skull and Miss Hines is a patient in Timmins hospital where she is being treated for chest injuries. Police reported that the two were enroute to Miss Hines’ home in St. Louis, when the accident occurred. Keating apparently became confused at the turn at the interchange, lost control of the car, ran off the road and overturned.

The dead man was a waiter for the Pennsylvania

Earl Theodore Gaumer (c. 1881 - 11 January 1962)

HYNDMAN, Pa. — Earl Theodore Gaumer, 81, died yesterday at his home here.

Born near Hyndman, he was a son of the late Samuel and Mary (Kennell) Gaumer. Mr. Gaumer was a member of Central Christian Church.

Surviving are his widow, Rachel (Shroyer) Gaumer; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Lepley, of here; Mrs. Mildred Deneed, Cairnbrook; Mrs. Freda Bryant, Baltimore, and Miss Phyllis Gaumer, at home; three sons, Curtis E. and Stanford L. Gaumer, both of Baltimore, and William W. Gaumer, of here; a sister, Mrs. Robert Bell, Jenners; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Central Christian Church by Rev. H. B. Rittenhouse. Burial will be in Comps Cemetery.

Roy Shroyer (c. 1907 - 1 August 1974)

Roy Shroyer

Roy Shroyer, 67, Fairhope, Pa., died yesterday at his house. He was a retired employe of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

A native of Fairhope, he was a son of the late Jacob and Rose (Clites) Shroyer.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pearl (Emerick) Shroyer; a daughter, Mrs. James Cummins, Fairhope; a son, T-Sgt. Blaine Leroy Shroyer, with the Air Force at Gettysburg, Pa.; four brothers, Ira Shroyer and Harvey Shroyer, both of Fairhope; James Shroyer, RD 1, Fairhope, and Robert Shroyer, Baltimore.

Eight sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Lillian Klavuhn, Cumberland; Mrs. Ruth Shumaker, Fairhope; Mrs. Nellie Close and Mrs. Rosella Davey, both of Ellerslie; Mrs. Goldie Emerick, RD 1, Hyndman; Mrs. Edna Helmstetter, RD 1,
